This consultation is on me! Whether you decide to hire me or not. At this initial visit we will take this time to get to know one another and see if I am the right fit for you and your family. We will discuss how I can support you during your birth. This will take about 30 minutes.
Phone & Email Support
Once hired as your Doula, I will be available by phone/email for any questions or concerns that you may have. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible. Once you are 37 weeks, I will be on call for you. During that time, you can reach me day or night.
3 Prenatal Visits
I will come to your home and go over what you want your birth to be. We will use this time to go over different comfort and pain management techniques that we can use during your labor. We will go over your birth plan, if you have one. We can also go over breastfeeding, other resources and questions, if you'd like.
I'm a Professional Labor Doula that is working towards certification.
As a Doula, I Do Not:
I can come to your home and help with comfort measures (massage, counter pressure, labor positioning, and lots of other techniques).
If you are having an assisted home birth (with a midwife) I will continue to support you through labor at your home. If you are having a hospital birth or are requested to go to the hospital by your care provider then I will meet you there and continue support.
I will not leave your side but only step back at your request and will happily step back in to continue support.
Perform any clinical tasks
I am NOT trained to perform any medical, clinical tasks. Such as cervical checks, baby heart rate monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, etc.
This is out of my scope of practice.
I do NOT replace your medical professional/ midwife.
As a doula, my role is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor and the birth process, and the immediate postpartum period.
Baby’s first feeding Support
After your baby is born, I will remain with you for up to 2 hours to assist in breastfeeding support.
I will also use this time to help you adjust to life with your new baby and anything else you may need.
Postpartum follow-up visit
During the second or third week home I will come by and visit with you about your birth story. I will be taking notes during the whole process and will strive to make an accurate timeline to help preserve your experience.
During this time I can also help in breastfeeding, baby wearing, diapering, and any baby care questions.
We can have up to 3 postpartum visits. This will be up to you.

Make decisions for you
I am here to support, encourage, and empower any decision you make.
My role as a doula is to provide you with evidence-based information so that you can make an informed decision for the birth experience you desire.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I will not speak for you.
I am here to encourage you to self-advocate.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
Whether or not the decision you make is something I would choose for myself, it is not my place to push my own opinions on you.
I am here for you!
My Back-up Doulas
On the rare occasion that I am not able to attend your birth for any reason, I will call one of my back-up doulas. I trust these women and their ability to care for my clients just as I would. This service is included with my fee and is at no extra cost to you.
